I had this dream roughly in 2007. I mention it because I think of it on a regular basis. At least weekly if not several times a week.
I was on a green hill near the ocean. I could taste the salt water in the air and hear the seagulls. There were alot of people around. I would guess it was during a major holiday. I.e 4th of July, Memorial Day etc.
My kids were nearby, I didn't really see them just sensed them.
I look up and see that 1/4 to 1/3 of the sky is blocked out by this flaming red ball. Everyone else saw it too. People started freaking out trying to run.
I just sat there with my kids thinking "where do these people think they are going to go to". I was at peace and calm. I knew that we couldn't escape this thing. I just gathered my children up and hoped it wasn't painful. Meanwhile people ran around us panicking and try to flee.
This dream was very vivid and bright. I am haunted by it for over 3 years now. Not in a scary way just in an annoying WTH was that all about.
