I had a horrible dream last night. The dream was so vivid emotionally that I was crying in my dream and when I woke up. I dreamt of a calamity, a horrible earthquake, buildings were crumbling. I was seeking shelter during the quake and found a "food stand" which only lasted temporarily before being crushed by falling debris. I managed to escape. Only to turn to see my two dogs. One was lifeless with a bloody sheet draped over it. My other dog, I saw her but she was not moving but still alive and able to recognize me. I recall running to her to hug her and help her and I recall saying in my dream "Oh no!!!!! ... After all of this? ... and the dream was over. I was in tears at this point in the dream and coming out of the dream.

What makes this dream so memorable is the fact that the ONLY time I have earthquake dreams seem to always preceed an actual earthquake in real life by a day or two and the emotional factor is always there.
