We were living on the central Florida Atlantic coast. A flood had occurred, at least a foot deep where we were standing. It was a permanent situation so people were moving about to fetch what they had left of their belongings. There were a series of poles sticking out of the water which indicated where it was safe to travel on foot or by boat, a channel of sorts. There were eddies and standing waves in the water, but the water was moving slowly within the channel, to the northeast. At my feet, were many dogs, all of them larger, such as golden and labrador retrievers who were able to escape the deeper water. I concluded the smaller dogs did not make it. That was the end of the dream!
