Start of Dream: Dreamed I was in a house (not mine) and I knew someone was trying to break in. I could see the woman outside and my first thought was "Zombie/Druggie". I went to the door to make sure it was bolted and she was pushing on the door as I was securing it. I got it locked tight and was thinking I had better check the other doors and windows too. I then saw another woman join her and they both started trying to break in. I grabbed my phone and ran to the bathroom, locked myself in and tried calling 911. End of Dream.

Afterthoughts:

I don't have these types of dreams often, thank goodness. The last couple of times I did, my big cat was sleeping with me. Humm
They are indoor/outdoor cats. My cats are always on alert to any strange sounds in or outside of the house. So sometimes I wonder if I am picking up on their emotion when they sleep next to me.
A zombie dream, like DLP's.. Hmmm..

True story... One night in 1999, I had just gone to bed and my youngest daughter was sleeping in my arms. We were both laying on our sides. I was in that "twilight" spot where I'm drifting off, but still very aware of what is going on around me. I started to hear these noises, like a screeching kind of sound and there were a lot of them. At the time, we lived near McCarren Airport in Las Vegas, NV and it's known to have a large bat population. So as I was laying there drifting off, I was wondering what the noise was, and started to think about those bats.

Then things got weird... Each time I heard a screech, the sound got sort of long and warped. Like someone was playing it on a recording, but slowed it down. And each time I heard it, the sound felt like it was going physically through me. Like a vibration of some kind. Then there were these weird flashes of light, like a camera going off outside the building, but they coincided with the screeches (I remember thinking "I didn't know a storm was coming" and wondered why there wasn't any thunder?). Then it almost seemed like I could see the bats through the walls (Adding: like an x-ray, but not seeing bones. Just black and white images of bats flying around). It was so weird!

My daughter (who is gifted like me, but doesn't talk about it), started to wiggle in my arms and moaned a little, like she was scared. The sounds and vibrations were intense at this point, so I rocked her a little bit, saying sleepily, "it's okay, it's just bats"... Then all of a sudden I felt a bump to my side that was facing the ceiling and startled, I looked to see what it was and it was actually the ceiling! My daughter and I were both still laying on our sides, but at the top of the room! I looked down and saw us still on the bed! The whole thing freaked me out and I like "jumped" and boom! We were back in our bodies again and I was fully awake at this point.

I often think about this "event" and wonder what the hell had happened? Or why it happened? But I know it had something to do with those bats I was hearing outside. And I've considered what I was initially feeling (the vibrations) may have been their sonar. I don't know about the flashes of light though. No explanation for that at all. I feel like that I was going into some kind of dream state and their sonar literally pulled us out of our bodies. And because I was holding my daughter, she was pulled out, too... It wouldn't be my first time having an OBE, but I don't think it's something I regularly do? Or that I am aware of... The weirdness of this one was that I felt the bump of hitting the ceiling, like we were still physical?

Anyways, I never discount the power of what animals can do to and for us in our sleep / dream states. They see things we don't and work on a whole other realm sometimes... Especially cats!
Thanks for the post, IHM! I think that my cats are tuned in maybe more so, because I am on "walkabout", more than I realize.
