LOL at silly self,

"YO MODS" or "EAGLE1" help! I have never asked or played-with the "Thread Rating" ability.

Just being in a playful mood today, I clicked four stars on a sweet thread, not really expecting it to work since I'm not a mod. it worked! LOL...

Why are we members allowed to rate threads? I mean can others come along and change the rating? I tried and it didn't change. Dangme, I'm just a bit surprised that it works and yet I don't see most threads having it.
I'm just surprised. I had assumed it was an admin.thingy and ignored it.

It's Aletalete's thread called "Happy Day."

I now return y'all to your regularly-scheduled uh, broadcasting? no, day! Happy day, eh?  Cool  Big Grin
I have no idea Nanny. I didn't even know we could rate a thread. ha ha!
Hahaha, I just clicked three stars to rate my thread here and a little window camp up telling me sorry, I can't rate my own thread. Well, hmph~ least I rated it humbly, LOL.
To "rate a thread or comment" is giving a person reputation points. Nanny that is how you got a reputation of 286. Someone that gets lots of rating for their post rises in reputation and lets others know that they post interesting stuff and comments. Then you can know who's work is liked.
But, bbbbut, Big Grin I know of the "rating" button. I give thumbs-up to the rest of you often. It's those cute, little stars at the top of a thread that I never paid any attention to. I don't see them "lit up" on very many threads, either. So, out of curiosity I clicked some of them and they lit-up. LOL I did not expect them to do that.

I wasn't sure either, so poked around a bit last night and found a wealth of info on other topics, but not that. Will let Eagle know at some point that should be made more clear with new members (and everyone else who was blissfully unaware Big Grin ). I'll add it to the website list for when he resurfaces from his studies.
When he first started the site he was the one giving out ratings for the work people helped him with. Then we first people found out we could rate others. It died out when he put a Thanks button on here since we could thank someone for what they said with that link, it was as close to a like button as he could get. I think there was some small amount of jealousy involved as well that killed the ratings.
Ok thanks, I'll mention it anyway and he can decide what he wants to do.
IMHO: I do not like rating threads simply because people may only read the posts with high ratings. I think every word written here is a needed contribution, so we need to be reading "all" posts.
I read all posts too. Will note your comment and pass along to the boss.
