I dreamed we got a kitten but couldn't decide on a name. Then I was traveling to different places-mountains, desert, even a cruise ship-and everywhere I went, people came up to me and suggested names for the kitten. No matter what was happening, I got names for the kitten. It was both annoying and comical as I tried to do my job but all the people wanted to do was offer names for that kitten.

This dream was pure day residue. Our son found a kitten on the side of the road and brought it home. In our house, if it makes it into the house, it's ours, so we now have a new kitten. It is also an unnamed kitten and we've been tossing names around for it but haven't come up with one we like and seems to suit the newest member of the family.

And yes, this is one of those ordinary dreams. Nothing dark happening here. Just mentally occupied with naming a kitten right down to my subconscious, apparently. Big Grin
Awww kittens are so precious. My first thought reading your post was a name that sounds like Odysseus or Oddie. Let us know what you decide.   Smile
The kitten is female and we're open for suggestions. So far, we're leaning towards "Ninja" or "Spook" because she has the ability to go where she wants, regardless of closed doors.

No kidding. I watched her squeeze her little self through a two inch wide gap beneath our bedroom door because she wanted to out where the spouse was and the door was in her way. We haven't been able to keep her contained anywhere in the house so we stopped trying. Right now she's asleep behind the washing machine, having managed to squish herself in the narrow space between the washer and the wall to get back there. We know she wanted someplace hidden so the other animals in the house couldn't get to her and she found the perfect place.
I like both the names Ninja and Spook. She sounds adorable. I call one of my cats "ninja cat" sometimes because he jumps on dogs and makes them cry.

Why do I keep thinking" Mischief Managed".
We have decided on a name!

Before I reveal the new name, I do want to thank you, Cassandra, for tossing out the breadcrumb of Odysseus. No, I didn't go with that name but it did cause me to sit up and think "Yes! The name of an appropriate goddess will work!" As a friend mentioned, the kitten desired a name that indicated beauty and strength, so while Ninja and Spook worked, they didn't resonate.

So after doing some research, we settled on Nyx, the Greek goddess of the night, not well known and not much remains in the mythological records but what is known is that she was considered so beautiful and had such strength that Zeus respected her.

We contemplated Artemis, which would work but didn't resonate. Plus, we wanted a name easy to yell for those times we need to yell at her(and they will happen. Wink )

So her name is now Nyx.
Love love love the name Nyx!
Mollie McGoozle (of the Sarasota McGoozles) and Allie Kat (who thinks she’s a golden retriever bless her fierce little kitteh heart) say Welcome Nyx!
Love that name!
I won't presume to speak for Nyx-she really is quite a personality-but I thank all y'all for her warm welcome!
