Alien Catastrophe Map

I had this dream a couple of months ago. Someone I could not see but who I knew was an alien being handed me a map. I held the map up and looked at it. I had the sense of being in some type of hidden environment. The map had a bright red circle around an large area, indicating that some sort of complete devastation would affect this area. It was a sense of total devastation, as if nothing could live there after whatever the catastrophic event was occurred. In the dream it seemed to me that the area indicated was either or both the southeastern US or south-central China. I can't overstate the feeling of utter desolation this map evoked. My sense was that the area in the southeastern US was not the Atlantic coast states but further west.
