I know. I was shocked.

Maybe I'm reading into his death but when I read about his death, coming on the heels of his birthday and a new album finished and I got the sense that he had finished what he came here to do and it was time to leave. So he did.

And doesn't it feel like we're watching a great many celebrities/musicians/other people in the public eye leaving their physical bodies behind?

Yes, another singer was just buried today? or very recently. She was daughter of the jazz musician, wasn't she? Natalie Cole, that was her name.

R&B singer Otis Clay has also died. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/201...at-age-73/

Here's a thought: While I'm not aces at finding past runs with certain words, I do remember there were runs with the name "David" in them. Given the international outpouring of remembrances to David Bowie-my FB feed is wall-to-wall posts about Bowie today-was there a run that might have foreshadowed his unexpected death?

Howdy, DLP! The search engine here brought up this page. I wonder if this link is posted if the page will show with the hits for "david." I bet more than one run may sound like him, it's late and am just peeking in a moment or so. In fact, I came to this thread because I finally remembered the name of the one movie that I watched with our daughters many years ago that had really cool music by the dude. Labyrinth! This scene was particularly cool and his voice never sounded better.

First, the link of search engine's "david" findings.

Here's the youtube of just one 3min. song with scenes of the labyrinth itself. remember this?

The scene based on the M.C. Escher print "Relativity" : http://www.mcescher.com/gallery/impossib...elativity/

I've seen "Labyrinth" a bunch of times. It never gets old.

In my rock'in life of the 70s, I never bought any of his music, but when I would hear it I'd really dig his sound. Then, when I became a homeschooling mom I watched "Labyrinth" with our daughters more than once. Well, knowing me I folded laundry and dusted the house, etc. while it was on the second time, etc.
I think it was some of his best work and I didn't pay him a "fan" type of attention.
