Let's keep it real here. Smelling some tainted public relations problems with this whole Lafayette shooting. Decide for yourself...

Recommend the first short video. Not sure about the second.

So sad the things that people put on the internet in the aftermath of a tragedy. If you want to see authentic videos there are some on our local TV stations, KLFY and KATC. And radio station KPEL965.com.

How is the community holding up, Julie? Is everyone still in shock? Blessings...

Yes, still in shock, trying to understand the WHY of it all. Sometimes knowing why something like this happens, helps the grieving process. Seems like everyone knows someone, who knows someone that was affected by this. Just our sense of small town security has been affected.

Gun sales sky rocketed here in Lafayette. The Louisiana concealed carry handgun permits department will be busy for a while.

I can imagine, Julie. thanks for sharing.

I also heard that gun confiscation legistlation is immanent in that county. True? Also heard that the theater was a gun-free zone. Those conceal carry permits would be useless in those zones.

I have not heard anything about "gun confiscation legislation". It will not happen without a fight here in Acadiana. Cajuns have a very long history of fighting for our right to bear arms. Everyone I know was raised with guns, and we didn't shoot each other. We grew up with a respect for life and guns. The problem with the general population is complacency. Most people in their 20's and 30's have a sense of entitlement. The don't believe our own government would dare to tell them what they can't have.

Yes, the theater is a gun-free zone. That won't stop people either from carrying.

Here's the advantage of concealed carry. No surprise that mass media won't report on it.
