“Today, America is coming to help,” Obama said \u2014 while also stressing that U.S. troops wouldn’t be returning to Iraq.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n First off, we learned from Kosovo that you can\u2019t win wars from the sky.<\/p>\n Second, the statement itself is an oxymoron. Pilots are \u201ctroops\u201d just as much as ground forces are. Therefore, TROOPS have, in fact, deployed. Some people are going to argue that no troops deployed because the HW Bush carrier was already in the area.<\/p>\n I disagree. Brilliant! So basically we’ve been funding millions (probably billions) of dollars for the HW Bush to be prepositioned since February (only to quietly move it closer in June).<\/p>\n Since these were pre-deployed assets, once they are used, that constitutes “deployment of forces,” just as the headline below indicates:<\/p>\n http:\/\/www.ibtimes.com\/us-deploys-navys-boeing-fa-18-hit-isis-targets-kurdistan-1653150<\/a><\/p>\n Third, there is absolutely NO WAY in heck that Interdiction or Close Air Support aircraft (which is what these operations are all about or going to be about) will be at all successful without ground troops talking the pilots in. I’ve seen target building from the CAOC…enough said.<\/p>\n Fourth, we already know that ground troops are there, but they aren\u2019t advertised because high level politicians need to appear that they aren\u2019t warmongers. But it\u2019s no secret that ground troops are and have been on the ground in Iraq. Period.<\/p>\n What Obama meant to say is that he isn\u2019t making an unclassified commitment to Iraq. The ground troops needed are covert, and thus do not have to be acknowledged by the face-saving politicians. The F-18s on this latest op talked to spooky people with beards and who like to munch on worms for snacks …. you can take that to the bank.<\/p>\n The deployment that POTUS says will never happen….ALREADY HAPPENED! By the way, anyone want to argue that it was just a coincidence that the HW Bush carrier got the nod for this op?
