Some would ask, \u201cWouldn\u2019t this be a perfect score?\u201d Well, I dropped it just a few tenths of a point because San Bernardino actually sits about 30ish miles from the coastline. That\u2019s pretty doggone close, though, and the score reflects that.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the real problem\u2026 with all the rain and storms lately, has this eliminated the threat of Headline #23, the drought migration? For example, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/local\/la-me-weather-rescues-20140804-story.html\">this article<\/a> mentions that \u201c<em>The first days of August have been surprisingly wet in Southern California, with unusual humidity and showers throughout the region<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>___________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>If you\u2019re new to the NDC, then welcome! This article explains how one of our 119 <a href=\"http:\/\/nationaldreamcenter.com\/wp\/projects\/project-august\/reports-and-predictions\/proj-aug-headlines\/\">Project August headlines<\/a> came true (or at least registered a decent hit on our <a href=\"nationaldreamcenter.com\/wp\/how-to\/score-a-dream\/\">DreamSeer scale<\/a>.) We\u2019re still in phase 1 of formulating predictions based on collective dreamwork, and thus some of the content seems dire and substantially negative. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Stay tuned, though, because the success we\u2019re having here will carry us directly into the next phase, where we actually get to choose the outcome ahead of time\u2026or at least that\u2019s what one of our teams will be attempting to do. We\u2019ll have sign-ups in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned or sign up for <a href=\"http:\/\/nationaldreamcenter.com\/wp\/about\/contact-us\/\">free email alerts<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>___________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1>Headline #23<\/h1>\n<p>HL23 said: \u201c<strong>Southern community becomes ghost town because of worst drought in recorded history<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve been watching this headline literally all summer long since it was one of our earlier projected headlines. We hypothesized Texas, Arizona, Las Vegas, and much of California to be the big threat zones, but CA rose to the top of the threat list by August 1<sup>st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>So, with all that rain from HL52, is the drought over? This next article clears it up for us:<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/local\/lanow\/la-me-ln-rain-california-drought-20140807-story.html\">California&#8217;s severe drought unchanged despite record thunderstorms<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Wow! Unchanged?!<\/p>\n<p>I was originally thinking that HL23 and 52 (the two mentioned above) were contradictory\u2026that we couldn\u2019t possibly have both come true. But one day after the thunderstorms, the UN weighed in\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/california-drought-may-mean-people-leave-2014-8http:\/www.cnbc.com\/id\/101884085#.\">A United Nations climate change expert said that if California&#8217;s severe drought continues, eventually, the U.S. might have to migrate people out of California, CNBC reports.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em>Again, Wow. First off, why do we even need the UN to be announcing stuff like this? Can\u2019t Californians decide for themselves whether to migrate or not?? But even then, where\u2019s the federal government? I mean, why are we skipping from local governance decision-making all the way up to International governance?<\/p>\n<p>Too many questions. What we do know is that this is registers a small hit on the DreamSeer scale. Even though the actual migration hasn\u2019t happened, we have news predicting it or talking about it, which represents a small hit, such as a 2.4(ish).<\/p>\n<h1><\/h1>\n<h1>Headline #99<\/h1>\n<p>\u201c<strong>Sinkhole develops in [City TBD] swallows cars, homes, and asphalt<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Notice first how an interesting word is used here: \u201cDevelops\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Most sinkholes that we hear about\u2026they \u201cHappen\u201d or they \u201cOpen up.\u201d I bring this up because it\u2019s very relevant to the <strong><em>developing<\/em><\/strong> story out of Seoul, Korea. The articles for this story range from July 31<sup>st<\/sup> to August 7<sup>th<\/sup>, but we\u2019re certain to start seeing more.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, this is not just your everyday alternative news sink hole. This one is all over mainstream news because this <strong><em>developing<\/em><\/strong> set of sinkholes is poised to undermine the world\u2019s sixth largest skyscraper!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>The AP reports that a bunch of <strong>strange, small sinkholes are popping up out of nowhere<\/strong> in neighborhoods nearby.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>The Korea Times tweeted a picture of one of the sinkholes back on July 21:<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0 People in Seoul are alarmed by the increasing number of &#8220;sinkholes&#8221; <strong>appearing on streets<\/strong> http:\/\/t.co\/mTKGwG0wv5 pic.twitter.com\/JgeZ2DHY0q<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0 \u2014 The Korea Times (@koreatimes1) July 21, 2014<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>These strange earthly issues are causing safety concerns, threatening the construction. No cars have been swallowed yet, but it\u2019s a DEVELOPING story about a city, and the holes have been swallowing asphalt.<\/p>\n<p>The only thing left is the skyscraper itself, but Headline #99 technically didn\u2019t require a building\u2026that would just make the prediction that much stronger.
