Airport Vortex

I was at a work function in a hotel by Toronto airport. Our meeting was interrupted by continual rumbling sounds. When we opened the curtains we saw dozens of planes in the air and many more taking off in a hurry. We were wondering why all the air traffic when another curtain was opened to reveal a giant black vortex to the West of the airport. I knew it was some sort of portal opening to another dimension and turned on the TV to see if anything was on the news. The news was calling it a terrorist event and that the army was called into action.
