I'm stunned by all facets of this story, from the tribe standing up for their land to the negotiators showing up with a small case of water and tobacco as negotiating chips....just amazing. As for their claims that oil infrastructure is toxic and dangerous, well the truth hurts. As the oligarchy rolls their eyes at the resistance, our worldwide raping of Earth's valuable resources continues unabated, save this small territory in Canada.
Lastly, I think this situation is metaphoric for the broader and more general pillage of our planet. I think this situation is a fine example about the biggest unacknowledged war happening in our world and most certainly the collective dreamers are seeing a definite need for a savior. The savior in this case could be someone who circumvents the corrupt patent process to give humanity a new technology to make this oil atrocity defunct. It has to happen swift...
