I was attending and assisting with Saturday mass at my prior Catholic church in the Chicago area; the parish pastor was presenting. Mass was disrupted when police officers arrived and insisted on talking to the pastor (a sign of great disrespect to me that they did not wait until Mass was over). The pastor came back and Mass resumed, and we could see another priest being questioned, and then another. The volunteers were then gathered and one by one a priest asked if we wanted to take some time off, perhaps a vacation, several said yes, although I did not. The pastor indicated that one of the priests had given parishioner financial information, including banking account numbers, to another church, and that our church would be temporarily closed. There was some confusion over whether the closing date was immediate, or whether Sunday mass would be held the next day, and then closed effective Monday.
