Fire in the Gulf?

This morning as I woke up, I remembered the end of what had been a longer dream. I am on a wood platform(or deck) overlooking a white sand beach. I'm about a 100 yards from the sand, at about 3 stories up in height. To my left and slightly behind me someone(no one I know, but someone I consider a friend in this dream) is explaining the scene in front of me. There are dark marks on the sand where the waves have reached and at the wave break point farther out in the water is a raging inferno, with flames leaping high in the air within black smoke. The flames and smoke stretch all down the coast as I look to my left.
