Couple of years back, there was flooding while my DIL was visiting her family in Bangkok. She and the grandbaby are set to vist her family next month, just about the time the city is supposed to go dry. Talk about interesting timing.

When I asked her about this story, she didn't have anything kind to say about the Bangkok government which, according to her, mismanages the water supply on a huge scale. She said her parents haven't mentioned any potential problems with the water, there's more concern about the martial law situation in Thailand, that things might be getting uglier than they already are(my paraphrasing of her words).

My personal take on this-keeping in mind that I'm not familiar with Thai politics like my DIL-is isn't it convenient that these two events are occurring nearly the same time. Nothing like the idea of having no water to keep people's minds off a governmental takeover.

I'm thinking that banning weapons isn't the answer. The UK was trying something like banning knives, but people can use anything to kill each other, even a pencil or their bare hands! The least we can do is try to even the playing field, but alot of people are so adverse to violence they will refuse to learn to protect themselves. Then there's situational awareness (know what's going on around you at all times), most people outside the field of security don't have it, but it can be trained into someone for sure. The likelihood of survival in any situation is greatly increased through situational awareness.

I work in Lafayette and live in the area. The Grand 16 is my favorite movie theater and now I'm not sure just how I can set foot in there again. Last night before going to bed I saw something on social media about a shooting there. I thought it was maybe a domestic dispute, one on one thing in the parking lot. This morning when I drove to work and heard what happened I was so sad for the victims.
I also thought: how can I dream and know about things that happen across the world from me and not know what is going to happen in my own town? I am filled with emotions this morning and want to ask everyone here to please pray for your loved ones and friends because the Evil is going to get worse.
