Julie, gal I hear ya. Glad you can still enjoy it.

Still, YES! I dig them for proving that one can be a cool soul and love Jesus at the same time. I do, very much so.

Yet another reason that I meditate/silently-wordlessly pray couldn't be said better than in this C.Crowns song "Slow Fade!"
Yeah, it is a slow fade from being a bright soul, so slow as to not be detectable, often. With meditation I detect it, usually so my walk into The Light is two steps forward, one step back. But, this 'ole turtle's getting there even facing hell sometimes.

This song...

Is this just a song that moves me, or am I becoming strong enough, THIS strong that I'll soon be ready to *do this in the worst of storms?

I remember decades ago, attending church, touched or so I thought by some of the music but now I see I was just caught-up in emotions. I was the same person with the same faults after the music and feelings that it provoked in me.

My prayer is to *be this strong. Oh, I know I'm on the way. The weaker I grow, more calm and still, actually the stronger I become. But! my journey into eternity is truly "two steps forward, one back" at best. Well, at least the 'ole hypocritical days of past are gone. I'd rather be very hard on myself than be like that ever again. (speaking of the seventies and early eighties, though I was one sincere, confused thing if that even makes sense)

This song by Casting Crowns called "I Will Praise You in The Storm" is dang good.

This one isn't rock but it rocks my soul, humbles and encourages all at the same time. I admit I don't need eyedrops when hearing this for the first time in months. Why? because it's true.

"Gonna let my heart defeat my mind" Matthew West sings. Oh yeahhh, the mind in most of us most of the time has a life of its own, mercilessly often.

I don't wanna "go through the motions." No, it's either everything, "no matter what" or nothing is my hope and prayer, and intention. To love Christ is to speak His Name even in front of some evil freak brandishing a knife and their onslaught is likely not going to subside. I trust our God enough to expect a requested "out of body experience" if in such a situation.

"El Shaddai" is one of my fav's also.

This one makes homesick. It is "I Cried Holy".

Julie, this song was new to me, thanks!

Sigh, yes these insane days I get that "Scotty, beam me up" feeling quite often. This place has been an awesome school and experience but it's really not home.
