After a short dry spell this came in just after climbing into bed. I don't own a TV so no day residue that I am aware- yet the entire dream could be metaphoric.
**** Military academy in a quiet town where fall colors are vibrant- Northeast perhaps, or near Virginia/Carolinas.
Scuffles amidst the student cadets creates turmoil. The CO (commanding officer- head of school ?) keeps it all under wraps. This is an internal issue he can resolve with discipline.
Stabbings in a dorm among some cadets. Two of them beat up pretty badly also hurt with stab wounds. Instead of going to the infirmary, they decide to 'cope' with it via playing and developing a video game to revisit the issue to see who wins.
An IT nerd, superior officer advises them to include names, times, and other identifying data as they play it out. This will help peg who is responsible for the turmoil.
A chief medical officer from HQ(Pentagon?)shows up at the school when he hears about the stabbings wanting to examine the injured cadets. The CO won't let him in. He vows to resolve it internally.
Now the turmoil goes up the ladder but is somehow still kept secret.
My sense is that metaphorically this could be the condition within intelligence/political/military circles over present global situations and major disagreement between parties over policy. Each side considering the other in need of learning something critical. The issue is about to 'break' open and reveal itself.
