Teaching many people
#2
What an amazing story, Shadewolf, both for him and for your entire family enduring with him. And I realize it is not over yet. Have any of you been able to speak with your father through all this about death and his feelings of death? If he is fully at peace with death, and is staying instead for your mother and/or you or others, that is another matter entirely. And to this thread, in any of these episodes so far, has he spoken of a light or feeling of an afterlife within reach ... and then choosing to return? Clearly, he is teaching many throughout his experience. Sometimes, I have found too, our loved ones need to know that they have our permission to go. If they sense that we are still in a state ourselves of truly not knowing how to live life without them, then it compels them to stick around. The fearful part is: our loved one can never know for sure how their death will affect us, even if seeing the light and sensing that we will be okay. Our reactions to someone's death may be quite scattered and up and down, before leveling off into acceptance. One thing is clear, your father's mission is clearly not over. It is close to being over, but still, not just yet.
