Thanks, Deb. Although our data here is still a bit green (not extensive yet), it appears to me that dreams, especially dream linguistics, can pick up both the planned and unplanned events. I'm betting there is going to be some data to substantiate this claim one way or the other, but unfortunately many times we will never know whether the even was planned or not. Then, of course, we have the more esoteric version, which might suggest that everything is planned, in which case that would make our assessment very easy...in that case, yes, dreams DO, in fact, pick up planned events.
