Sherriann, I am glad you started this thread. For some time I have been trying to think what Nova means to us in this setting. I have felt that perhaps NOVA relates to ISIS. I also have wondered if Gemini is relating to NOVA and ISIS. Similar to your definition, this is another.
The British dictionary definition of Nova from Dictionary.com states:

a variable star that undergoes a cataclysmic eruption, observed as a sudden large increase in brightness with a subsequent decline over months or years; it is a close binary system with one component a white dwarf .

Unfortunately, I would say that ISIS is a group causing a CATACLYSMIC ERUPTION around the world. It has suddenly, over the past 9 months or so, truly increased it's STAR POWER and BRIGHTNESS. It is a NEW STAR terrorist organization. Hopefully it will fade in time. The "close binary system" part of the definition caught my attention with the word GEMINI we have been seeing. BINARY meaning 2.
