The game of soccer itself as a physical game is not what was implied. In the context of the dream, it is a non-physical game. The action of the man, this particular man, in front of the ball denoted, yes, a game - tossing something around, giving something a kick in a verbal or written sense.
There are lots of soccer games, tournaments and even the U19 world cup happening in August. The last time I had a dream about a soccer ball, it had nothing to do with the physical sport of soccer. It had to do with a financial game play although there was no indication at that time in the dream that it had to do with money. My granddaughter plays soccer, so my unconscious grabs that aspect of my life and uses it to get a point across. What exactly the game will be this time, I don't know.
