I am sorry Julie. It must be perplexing that you are unable to dream about an event in your own backyard but can do so about events across the world.
If you look for the good that will come from this horrible event, directly and indirectly, you will find it.
"A teacher in the theater who reportedly jumped in front of a bullet headed for her colleague. Another teacher pulled a fire alarm, which helped to clear the theater.
"Even though she was shot in the leg, she had the presence of mind to pull the fire alarm to help save other lives," Jindal said.
The example of selflessness and love for humanity by these 2 teachers will shine brightly for their students and community. Thousands of students who pass through the schools where they teach will understand first hand the impact caring and love can actually have upon others. Some will be inspired do feats of courage and compassion in the future. Other students will feel more empowered to choose to do good acts in their lives because they will see first hand how good can make a positive impact.
Look for it. The good will be found in small things, but they will burn brightly. You will feel love, it will be sent by prayers of those around the world. It will be found as a warm balm healing the cool fear and sadness. It will make the sweet moments in life more full and vivid.
