Martial law

I had a dream last night involving what I perceived as a police clamp down of some type. The glaring injustice of the police caught the group of people(friends?)I found myself with, to become extremely angry and led us to agree to take action. We picked up whatever crude weapon we could find and agreed to fight the poilce, but as we exited the building, my companions got through, but I was immediately beset with about ten cops. These police jeered mockingly at my crude weapon and proceeded to cuff me. However they only placed the cuff over one wrist, with the other dangling free from the cuffed wrist. I awoke at this point, wondering at the symbolism of the dangling cuff.
