Planting crops on someone else's land

I dreamed from a 3rd person perspective that someone had planted a bunch of crops on someone else's land, and the landowners found out about it, and fenced off the crops and started harvesting the crops for themselves.

For some reason, I thought the fencing off part was not quite ethical for some dream reason that I can't recall in this state.
