chickens

I recall dreams about 3 times a year but this one was last week. I was in the garden. I realised that one of my hens had got out of the pen. I didn't know how she did that, I wasn't really missing any. While she was out of the pen, she had hidden in the garden and sat on eggs. Lots and lots of eggs. Three or four dozen at least. She had managed to hatch some chickies but many of the chickies were hatched and dead. I commented that 50% of them were dead. I saw all the chickies bodies laid out in rows.
Thoughts - eggs in one basket, 50% kill rate?
