Comet Debris Pelts Earth

First I'm shown a view of outer space, a comet approaches. Once it passes Jupiter's orbit, it strikes something like an asteroid. It shatters into a smaller nucleus surrounded by a large halo of debris. The whole group then makes its way toward Earth's orbit. Now I'm on my patio in Virginia, looking up at the night sky. The bright nucleus arrives first and can be seen sweeping across the sky from Southwest to Northeast, it doesn't hit our planet. But within minutes, the debris field hits and I see a river of shooting stars follow the same direction. A mist of sand or ash drifts down and I step back into the house to avoid it. Then the dream turns symbolic and it's raining vermin, as if to imply pestilence. The dream ends there.
