Things Aren't What They Seem
#1
I was in an old house that was familiar as if it were famous. It was as if I was touring it, but it was more like an inspection. I was told that the cabinets had been refinished, the counter tops, floors, and lighting redone. I felt very annoyed and irritated about this. As I moved through the house, I began looking at everything up close. This is when I noticed that everything was fake. The cabinets had been cover with a cheap materual, the lighting fixtures were plastic, the counter tops could be pealed back. I asked why they would degrade this historic home? The person in charge insisted that I leave and I was escorted out. When I was put out onto the street I began to walk. I quickly became confused and got lost. I would enter elevators, but they wouldn operate strangely. When I woke I felt frustrated that I never understood what the point of the facades were. I also felt that I was searching for something that I never fiund.
