Here's how I feel our Italian hero is going to go. He's a teenager I think too. While on holidays, there's an accident something aquatic related. Somehow he's spared in the initial part, and he dives through a hole to guide others out. I get the sense of a broken ship sinking underwater. Some people die, some survive. The cool rainbow may be gasoline or an oil slick on the water.
