We were outside listening to the Great Horned Owl that lives on our property. (They also make a squawk noise in addition to the hooting). He was at the top of a pine tree, and you could see the silhouette of his ear tufts in the dusk.
Then we saw not one, but a pair of Eagles soar over our pond. Absolutely majestic.

Not just a blessing, you have also been given a message. Now you have to figure out that message. Have fun.

We had our own message about a week ago: We were out and about, wending our way across the countryside and for most of the trip, we were escorted by hawks. They would fly parallel to us for a while, then veer off over the fields and pastures. When one would leave, another would take its place within a minute or so. It was so cool!
Then, after we finished our errands, we stopped off at the local Dairy Queen and as we were heading inside, spouse said to look at the bats. I look up and there are a few bats flitting off into the dusk. Then, suddenly, bats begin pouring out from behind the DQ sign over the entry. There must have been a hundred of them. They flew out, circled around over us, then flew after the others. That was the first and only time I've seen bats at the DQ and I'm a fairly regular customer. Plus, there were no signs of bats, like splatters of guano on the sidewalk. Oh, and the spouse and I were the only ones in the parking lot at the time.
I knew both were messages for both spouse and me. Bats are messengers of upcoming death. Not necessarily physical death, more likely figurative death, as in the ending of something to make way for something new. It is usually a huge ending. Considering our lives at the moment, it was like a confirmation for us that our current situation is ending and something new and better is coming along soon.

Cool story. I can see I have my work cut out for me. Hmmmm.....
"If an individual has been going through a hard time, eagle not only signals a new beginning, but provides that person with the stamina and resilience to endure the difficulties."

"According to myth, an owl sat on Athena’s blind side, so that she could see the whole truth."
Owls are also connected with wisdom of the soul.

Looks like I'm stronger than I thought. Doubly so. Triple when you count the owl's wisdom.

Friend of mine, her late brother had Owl as his totem. Frequently, owls represent death, which struck me as interesting as her brother passed some time ago. Anyway...I've had some contact with him when he needs to get a message to my friend. He never speaks but he gets his message across. Usually it starts with seeing an owl in some way, so I know it's him. He has also sent messages to me when something's up and I need to be careful. So whenever I see an owl, I know it's him and I tell him hi and ask what's up.
Seeing owls sure beats using the fire alarm to get my attention, like their father did, when he wanted me to pass along a message to my friend.

Yea, I read that the reason owls are associated with death is very often warriors would use an owl call when sneaking up on the enemy. I sure hope it's just a physical rebirth for me, and not THAT particular transition!
And if it is, I can see that I'll have to contact you with some other symbol, as the owl is taken LOL.
But don't worry, I'm not thinking I'm dying. Here's how deep my dreams have been lately: Two nights ago I had a dream where I was looking into a mirror and cutting my bangs with pinking shears. (Last fall I took the dive and got a pixie. What the heck was I thinking?!! I'm in the midst of growing it out, and I'm currently sporting bangs that look like the Bieber used to - totally in my eyes).
Anyway, there was a tv crawl that kept going across the bottom, and it would say "Five minutes later" and my bangs kept getting shorter and more whacked off until I looked like a bad Prince Valiant. I dream deep, don't I?!!!!

Goldengirl, you would be a golden retriever, at least I would think so. But that would be a long time from now...

Hey! Don't diss the pixie cut! That's my current cut du jour.
I prefer my hair short. I hate having to deal with long hair.
I'm intrigued by the idea that you were cutting your bangs(with pinking shears, no less) and that you seemed to continue to cut them. I know that I tend to cut my bangs when the hair starts getting in my eyes and I get tired of flipping the bangs off to the side so I can see clearly. Do you think there's an idea of needing to be able to "see clearly?"

Hey, I would never diss the pixie! I've had many in my lifetime, I just happen to also like the ponytail and no bangs. The BF says he likes it the best, I just don't like to get it cut all the time. But I bet you ROCK the pixie, I also ROCK the pixie! (Shoot, I've been so miserable growing it out I've been considering cutting it again...)
And I believe that you are right in thinking there was more to the dream.
