  Run out of money
Posted by: Mike Yhwh - 09-20-2014, 04:33 AM - Forum: Old DreamBase (Imported) - No Replies

I was with my family at a holiday resort, enjoying the sun and walking down the pier. My wife wanted to buy an handbag and my kids had ordered an ice cream. The kids were enjoying their ice cream in the milk bar and I was next door with my wife. At the counter I reached into my pocket to pay the handbag but couldn't find any money. I was irritatedt and started fumbling for my wallet. I opened it an it was empty, no money there. I was feeling embarrassed. I took out a credit card. The clerk swiped it but returned it to me saying it was declined. My wife said, 'oh dear' this is so embarrassing! I tried the last card and it didn't work either. We returned the bag and walked out in total embarrassment and afraid that we couldn't even pay for the ice cream of the kids. When I arrived there, my son had paid for it and I woke up.

  Down in the basement
Posted by: Mike Yhwh - 09-20-2014, 04:25 AM - Forum: Old DreamBase (Imported) - No Replies

I was on the street in front of my parents house. I entered it and couldn't walk up, only down towards the basement. I was walking down , it was dark and I was embarrassed that I hadn't been there for my dad when he died. I felt that my dad was buried in this dark basement. I walked around in the darkness until I hit my foot on a stone and stumbled across the room to reach the light switch and flood the room with light. In this moment the room dissolved into pure light and he embarrassement was gone.

I've got to write this dream down!
Posted by: blueDREAM - 09-19-2014, 07:06 PM - Forum: Old DreamBase (Imported) - No Replies

Friday September 19, 2014

I am at my house (not my house in real life) and my friends and I are throwing a party in my back yard, consisting mostly of people from Electric Forest. My large in ground swimming pool and the surrounding concrete patio are immediately behind the one story brick home. The layout I've described so far reminds me of the house Mark Zuckerberg buys in Silicon Valley in the Facebook movie, but it's not exactly the same. It is nighttime, and lights on the house and in the pool provide ambiance. The pool area is enclosed with a chain link fence, with a yard behind it. Upwards of a hundred people are running around, but I'm chilling in the back left corner of the pool (from the house's perspective) with my boys Sean and Jason. We're just standing/swimming in a circle talking and watching people play. Sean is to my left and Jason to my right. I am facing the corner of the pool but am furthest away. Suddenly from my right I hear the roar of a steel roller coaster and the thrilled screams of the people on board. Just as quickly as it comes, it disappears like the sound of a car engine speeding past you on a highway. How many parties have coasters?
Electronic music is playing over all these sounds. I walk through the circle to the edge and lift a wet hand out of the water to grab my phone. I unlock it and pick a song. Apparently I am the one playing the music, via Bluetooth. I lock the phone and put it in my pocket underwater. I turn around and dive in, swimming across the bottom of the pool. The music is muffled the way water does, but I can still hear it. I think to myself 'Damn, that's pretty impressive that the Bluetooth works under twelve feet of water.' I swim back over towards my friends and surface. I set my wallet and phone on the ledge. I wonder to myself why I have my wallet in the pool. Unlike my phone, that's not waterproof. I swim around a little more and look back to see three dark (but Caucasian) men standing around my stuff. Sean and I step up at about the same time, and the men dissipate and leave the party. "They almost just stole my wallet" I say to Sean, thanking him for having my back like he always does.
"They did get my wallet," he replies, looking out the fence to the other pool. The other pool sits off to the side, dark and completely unpopulated. 'Why do I have two pools?'
I awake (in real life) in the middle of the night and look at my alarm clock. 4:40 AM. I need to write that dream down before I forget it! The memory is already fading. I think about reaching for my tablet, but I don't because dreams use the motor cortex for working memory and moving overwrites this space. I close my eyes and use the picture of Sean by the poolside as a hook to tow the dream back into working memory. That's almost all I have left.
Alright, I've got it. It's safe to move now and I can get my tablet. It's not there. I look down the hallway and see a girl, my age, with black hair like Sophie from Leverage over a skinny but well structured body about six feet tall. She has my android tablet in her left hand, arm dangling by her side, and she's facing me. She giggles and runs to her right, out of view down a stairwell. I chase her down the hall, which is dimly lit the way organizations run 'core' lighting at night or during a power outage. The walls are a dull, tasteful warm orange with nothing on them. I pass under three illuminated, recessed lights and break left down the stairs. She is close, I almost catch her! She gains stairs and dips out on one of the floors below me. I stop, having lost her, and take a small, blue plastic package of cool mint Listerine strips out of my pocket. I pop one on my tongue and take a deep breath. Okay, think like her, think like her...
My intuition guides me onto a random floor, out the door to the right and left around the first corner. This hallway has a bunch of doors, and turns right about 10 meters ahead. Directly in front of me is a clear glass window to a fishbowl classroom. I turn left down another hallway that was not visible until I turned down it, and which connects before the right turn with the fish bowl. She is standing at the end, just like before, with my tablet. It's a dead end with presumably locked double doors behind her. I close in, and she somehow gets around me and escapes! I've lost her again! I know she has Listerine strips just like I do, so I pull out the small light blue package, snap it open, and pop another one. I close my eyes and inhale through the mouth. The cool, almost overwhelming feeling overtakes my respiratory system. Think like her, think like her...
I run past the fishbowl and through some random maze of hallways. I approach another, different set of double doors and push them open in unison. I enter a huge, empty space with only one hanging industrial light lit in the far back left corner. It's a gymnasium. An empty gymnasium two stories tall with the typical clear coated hardwood floors and trussed ceilings. I walk across the gymnasium and out a different door. I walk calmly down some more hallways until I get to one of them with a right turn like before (but different). Instead of the fishbowl, there is a single wood door, open with the light on inside. I approach it and walk in. To my left are two rectangular tables in the shape of an L. The tables are filled with people sitting around them. Around the people there are student desks scattered randomly about the room in a manner that prevents occupants from seeing each others' papers. Only one of these desks are occupied, with the student facing away from me and hunched over. To my right is the teacher's desk, with a green chalkboard which terminates the room. A woman is half-leaning half-sitting centered along the side closest to me. She is an older, larger woman with curly, poofy blonde hair, circular glasses, and her arms crossed. She watches me the whole time I'm in this room, but never speaks a word. The students are silent, and I can't tell if she is proctoring a test or Eagle1istering detention. I walk up to one of the students sitting at the center table. He is sitting backwards, chair facing me instead of the table. It's Joey, the kid who was in my 10th grade electronics class and who sat next to me in my 12th grade math analysis class. He is holding my tablet with both hands at his stomach, like someone would if they were using it or reading from it except the screen is off. I step up to him and look him in the eyes. I calmly reach down and take the tablet from him with no resistance on his part. He can't run or retaliate in the presence of the proctor.
I sit at the isolated desk closest to the inside of the elbow of the L-table. It faces Joey and the other students. I recognize Jon, who is also sitting amongst the students at the center table. The three of us start talking quietly, and I wonder if that woman is going to intervene. Like I said before, she never does. We begin talking about cars, and they talk about which high-end cars they want. Most of the cars they bring up are in the six-digit price range. I interject with the Tesla Roadster. "It can beat all of the cars you've mentioned in a race. It can do zero to sixty in 3.6 seconds, practically a world record. A cheetah, which has never been surpassed by a street legal automobile, has a zero to sixty time of just 3.5 seconds. All your cars are 4+. On top of that, it is $68,000 instead of $168,000."
This is where the dream becomes a bit hazy, but the next thing I remember we are in Jon's car (his real car, none of the ones mentioned) and he's driving us around somewhere. It's still night time. I don't recognize where we are. I see a sign for Interstate 75, which makes a T-intersection to the left. This is the beginning of the highway. This doesn't look right for one thing, and for another thing I don't live near the end of I-75.
I wake up again at 5:55 AM. My tablet is right below me on the ground, untouched, and I write my dream(s) down.

  Skyscraper and cellular pools
Posted by: hereholdthis - 09-18-2014, 11:45 AM - Forum: Old DreamBase (Imported) - No Replies

I was on the outside of a large skyscraper that was under rennovations or the ends of construction. I could jump incredibly high in the air, and essentially do whatever I wanted. I was creating a pathway along the outside of the building, ramping upward. And having fun with the design of it, it was very abstract.

Three construction workers began to yell at me, and this portion of the dream went on with me exchanging with them about letting me make the ramp. I knew the entire time thier will was meaningless, and they could not stop me even if they wanted to. I went to the next portion of the dream as I tried to enter the building, and one of the workers forcefully stopped me.

-

I was in the same city, but I was slightly more mobile. There were not sidewalkers of streets, just deep, cubular pools about 6x12 feet set up, decending downward as you advanced past each row. There was a party (confusion?) and nobody could retrieve what they needed at the bottom of the pools. I could easily dive and navigate around the perilous terrain, and I dove for many people. The one point I remember is I had my cigarettes in my pocket, and I asked someone to hold them and I never saw him again. No matter, I can jump 70 feet in the air and breathe under water.

For some reason the only part of the dream I remember is suddenly knowing that I have the ability to go through metal fences (not just anything like doors and windows, but specifically fences that have metal wires.) My first fence had no barbs in it, and I went bent over such that my head would also have to go through, and started pressing my body through. It went through it pretty easy, although there was a little bit of resistence in the wire. I noticed it.

Then I went along in the dream (can't remember anything else about the dream), but at some point I was with someone else, and we came along a barbed wire fence. There was no way through except throught the fence. I said, "Ah no problem, I can just go through it." I bent over because there was some metal structure above the barb wires. So I bent over just as in the other fence and began pressing my body through. This time the fence was just a bit uncomfortable. It wasn't painful, but definitely more resistent. In fact, I was roughly half way through when I got stuck momentarily. I muttere to the other person, "No problem..it's just my mind's resistence." I quieted the mind again, and easily melded through to the other side of the fence.

I went to sleep with no intentions of dreaming about anything in particular. I dreamed I was at a beach with a sea wall of sorts. I looked out and saw a wave approaching. It was slightly large but not a worry. It splashed against me and I was knee deep in water. I looked out to sea again and this time I saw a Mammoth size wave approaching. I was with someone else. We turned and ran to get away. It overtook us and everything in its path as we floated with it past buildings and others. I woke up very concerned. I do not live near the ocean . I am a good swimmer and never dream about the beach because I havent been to one for awhile.

In the dream I was in a road running race. I remember that this was similar to what I had the previous night, but in this case I was not swimming. The race itself had several stages; each stage was a repeat of the previous stage. I don't know why, but I know it was 10 stages. I'm not sure how long each stage was. In the dream I was running in the race; there were areas where it was hallways, with blocks that you had to run through; areas of double backs with gates to impede you. The final obtacle was a pond. In the race it was necessary to jump into the pond, and then run along the bottom to the other side. You were not allowed to come to the surface to get another breath, you had to run the whole way underwater on the bottom. I had done this obstacle once already in the dream that I recalled. I came to it on the final stage and jumped in. The water was cold and dirty. I was sinking to the bottom, but realized I had not gotten a good enough breath to be able to make it across. I surfaced but was not right on the entry side; I poked my head out, did some quick breaths, and told myself I could make it across. I had a feeling that, while I had not won any stages, I was doing quite well in the race because I was doing well in each of the stages, and was one of the leaders on the final stage. I was determined at that point that I would make it. I sunk to the bottom and ran across; the bottom was muddy and my feet stuck in the mud, so I worked on having fast light running steps so I would make it. When I got out at the other side, I realized that when I had surfaced I did not exit the water completely and wondered if I'd be penalized or disqualified. I went on since I didn't know, but thought that I had cheated; I wound up in a room that looked like a standard business reception area. A few other people were in the room, they appeared to have also been racing. I asked "is this the finish line?" since it didn't seem right. At this point the dream ended.

  Entering the Twilight Zone

I am at my friend's house and we're chilling in his front yard. He is a skinny white male, slightly taller than me, with dark hair. He is pretty average. The small white or light tan house is in a standard suburb and is just as average as my friend is. The driveway is on the left, with a little-used front door and a high-traffic side door which leads to the kitchen. The back of the house has an addition to it with it's own side door. The addition looks like a porch conversion and contains some couches and recliners. My friend's father, an older man with a gray beard, a weathered face, and salt and pepper hair lays asleep in the recliner furthest from the door, like he does every day after work. They have a detached garage to match the house capping the back end of the driveway. We are chilling in the front yard and we're talking about what's about to happen. My character understands what's happening, but the conversation lacks context clues which allow me to pick up on what's going on. There is an object in the driveway, the front of which is parallel with the front of his house. I cannot describe this object much because I only see it from the inside. It is open in the front and is a dull red or maroon box, almost like the inside of a shipping container, but flat, matte, and nondescript. I step in, observe, and step back out. Nothing has changed, but my friend isn't there anymore. I walk along the side of the house and quietly enter the door to the add on. My friend's father is sleeping in the exact same position in the exact same recliner, recovering from work. His hair and facial hair are pure black, and his skin looks moisturized, rejuvenated, and free of imperfections such as wrinkles. I take an imperfect step and he stirs. "Whaa-
Whose there?" He looks at me though grog and I freeze in anticipation of his startled reaction. He won't recognize me because he hasn't met me yet. He does seem to recognize me though, at least somewhat. He isn't startled at all. Hmm, interesting.
"It's okay, you can go back to sleep." I move back towards the door just as quietly in an attempt to get out before he gains more consciousness. He lays his head back down and drifts right into stage 2 sleep. I walk outside along the driveway to the front of the house. There is a kid my age in the front yard, who looks remarkably like my friend, but far younger. He greets me excitedly!
"Welcome! Come on inside, my Mom is making dinner."
"What are we going to tell her? I mean, I just kinda appeared out of nowhere."
"You're a friend I met at school." Despite the distinct lack of detail, this satisfies me and I follow him in the side door to the kitchen. A wooden table reaches out from the left wall, with the appliances along the right wall. Counters link the appliances and circle around the back wall, stopping at the door into the next room, presumably where his father is asleep. Windows above the counter let daylight and some green from the trees into the room. His mother, a beautiful blond woman, is boiling something or other on the stove for dinner. His (younger?) sister sits across the table awaiting a meal. I sit on the side closest to the door with my friend to my right. He tells his mother that he met me at school, and his mother makes conversation with me and asks me the standard Mom questions. Parents always love me, and I converse with her and the family. Soon dinner is served and we share a meal.
...
That evening my friend takes me to a hotel in town where he has made the necessary arrangements for me to stay. He speaks with the ladies at the front desk and we proceed upstairs to the room. He tells me to settle in and that he will be back later. The room is decent. It has two twin beds to the left and an old tube TV on the right. The bathroom is to the left of a covered window and a wall AC unit at the end of the room. I plop my stuff down on the bed closest to the window and turn around. My friend disappears down the hallway and the door closes behind him. I am alone.
Some time passes and I decide I better jerk off before anyone gets back. I pick up my Sony Xperia Tablet Z and set it back down, knowing full well there are no wifi networks. I pick up my phone, which has the body of an HTC Rezound with the UI of a Samsung Galaxy S5. I unlock it to see if it is able to connect to the analog cellular networks of the mid eighties, or if the local cellular companies have started experimenting with digital networks yet. Nope, absolutely no signal. This is an example of why you should keep a stash of downloaded porn instead of streaming it all. I open Chrome and try to load a website anyways. To my surprise, I am able to load an old website at extremely slow speeds. This is some really old porn. Its black and white and fuzzy, and looks like it was loaded from a 5.25" floppy disk. I stare at it and try to make out the image. I can see three naked women in the foreground. They are gorgeous! My eyes discern a fourth...and a fifth. By the time I finish studying the still frame, I make out eight naked women. I wrap up, and my friend doesn't return before I go to bed.
...
The next day my friend and I are walking around a K-mart or really old Wal-Mart (basically a dumpy 80s-era store). He is shopping for whatever it is that he needs, and I am just enjoying my time here. We split up briefly so he can go look for his items, and I walk towards the back of the store into the electronics area. There are no sales associates, no locked glass cabinets, no walls of TVs, and no colorful easy to understand 'tech specs' signs. The aisle I choose happens to be the cell phone aisle. They look much like my Mom's old red Nokia brick phone, but larger and heavier. I don't recognize any of the brands. So they do have cellular networks here. They must all be analog. I wonder how extensive they are. I pick one of the phones up. It is red and has nothing but a numeric keypad and the simplest of black and green screens. I hold it against the right side of my face and quietly speak random sentences into the transceiver. My friend walks into the other end of the aisle holding bags of stuff and asks if I am ready to go. "Yes." I set the phone back down.
...
My friend and I are walking around down town with a group of his friends. We are on a main street with two lanes in each direction and sidewalks. The street is lined on all sides with tightly packed two to five story buildings. Power lines suspended in the center between poles on either side of the road run over our heads. About 50 meters ahead of us there is an intersection created by a road terminating from the left. Power lines from all three directions converge on a white cylindrical transformer above the intersection. As we approach the intersection, I feel the tension in the air like something is about to happen. I turn left down the new road to walk out from under the power lines, but they cover all three roads. I walk down the road anyways. I am so sure something is about to happen that I decide to use my tablet to take a picture. As I am pulling the black piece of glass out, the transformer at the intersection explodes into sparks, flaming oil, and ceramic. I open the camera from the lock screen and begin recording video. I point the tablet at the transformer and look into the screen. The scene my tablet computer is recording is different than what I can see- people are still running and jumping over cars, but the power lines are gone and they're running through a field.

I am standing in a high school hallway with the same group of people. Students are opening and closing lockers to retrieve books. It is the afternoon, but I'm not sure if school is over yet or not. The principal walks up. He is a white, middle aged man with a receding hairline. He is dressed in a full suit colored eighties style, somewhere between light brown, tan, and puke green. His left hand holds a clear plastic Ziploc container with a blue lid. He addresses my friend as he approaches us, and I can see the container has some ground up weed and several pre-rolled blunts of various lengths. He takes the lid off and claims to have found this in my friend's locker. I lack that feeling of dread that accompanies someone getting in trouble at school. I realize that's because I'm from a different time zone and I don't have anything to loose. I inspect the Ziploc for the longest blunt and snatch it from the container. I light it up in the middle of the hallway, waiting for the principal to ask my name. He watches me but doesn't say anything. I take a few puffs and pass it to my left. The blunt makes three or four rotations through our group. I begin to get pretty high and at some point in there we aren't at school anymore. We sit on a couch and just talk and get to know each other. One of the kids in the group, in a conversation to which I am not a part, mentions something about .
Me: "What about number-number-number?"
Him: "If that's a regional code, I didn't mean it like that."
Me: "It is, yeah, that's the zip code for the area I am from."
Him: "Oh, cool."

Our group is walking down a long hallway. There are many doors on both sides, and far at the end I can see a large pane of glass opening to an overcast city view. As we're walking, somehow dubstep starts playing on my tablet. When I woke up I wrote that the song was Hashtag, but I feel like it was a more upbeat song. Forest me begins to come out. I raise my heels off the ground and begin moving with the music. The drop comes and I kick out my feet and jump around in time with the music, still moving forward down the hallway. Some of my friends begin dancing and copying in a simplistic way. Another group exits a door in front of us and to the left and files past us one by one. They look at us and I begin to think about the clothes I'm wearing and how out of place they are. I mean, it's not like I'm in pilgrim days and my clothes simply do not exist, but Electric Forest hasn't happened yet so my hoodie is out of place, and I am dressed pretty differently from everyone else in the hallway. Some of the people in the passing group begin to dance along and copy me, and they look like they're really enjoying it. I suspect they know this is music from the future. We dance for the rest of the song and all the way to the end of the hallway.

I am in driving back to my house. My surroundings don't feel surreal anymore the way they did before. I watch cars driving in the opposite direction trying to figure out if everything is back to normal or not.

  Damage on the Docks
Posted by: blueDREAM - 09-17-2014, 07:56 PM - Forum: Old DreamBase (Imported) - No Replies

A bigger black man, a sexy blonde girl, and I walk out onto a pier away from town. The pier sits just inside the river opening to the ocean. Lush green ridges or small mountains line both sides of the river, into which the town is built. The dock is long, and extends about a quarter of the way to the other side of the river. To our left is a massive white ship parallel parked against the dock. It is the only craft out here. We were supposed to take a boat across the river, but there is none.
We walk to the edge of the pier and before we turn around, my black friend jumps in the water. It looks cold, and is deep enough to be a shipping channel. I was trying not to fall in while my friend over here is resurfacing. He swims a circle around the end of the pier, calling us from below. I begin to wonder if he intends to swim across. I guess our little boat was just late, because it appears to our right.
The three of us board and begin pushing off. Instead of sailing forward to our destination, we sail left across the bow of the large Russian ship. I hear shouting coming from their decks as I turn around to look at what my black friend found. He holds two different sized cannon balls, one in each hand. The larger one must be at least twenty pounds, while the smaller one looks like twelve or fifteen. I turn back towards the shouting to see people lining up along the banister of the Russian ship with assault rifles. They aim at us, and I take cover behind the helm. A small mortar lays underneath a burlap sheet, no bigger than a large floor tile. The black man pulls the tarp off and rams a black iron ball down the barrel. I position our vessel directly in front of the bow of the Russian ship and look up to aim. The ship looks, from my perspective, just like the back of the yacht in Call of Duty: Black Ops, complete with a balcony and everything. My friends aim the cannon and fire. A shockwave ripples across the water and our boat moves slightly away from the ship. The cannon ball slams into the balcony and sends wood shrapnel flying everywhere. Three assailants are taken out by the blast and portions of the balcony pour onto the deck below. The remaining assailants take cover as we load the next one. I wonder if it will fire at all with a ball too small, but we try it with the same success. It slams into the side of the vessel, taking at least one more life and absolutely destroying the rear structure and part of the deck. The assailants pop up like a children's book as soon as the shrapnel settles. We try to load again under fire, and they take cover for the next blast. We continue this pattern for a few more rounds until we run out of cannon balls. I speed away as they try to regain themselves. Our vessel sustained only minor damage, and no one was hurt. Neither vessel is sinking, but the topmost portion of their ship is devastated and unusable. They will be stuck in port for a while.

  Clean the Gutters

Three of us are wandering around in the middle of nowhere. We are on intermingled dirt and grass paths outlined by rough terrain, large rocks, and tiny mountains. It kind of looks like an old Halo 1 map. We're looking for caves. We find several, but for some reason our first concern is making sure my over zealous friend doesn't fall into one of them.
...
I am at Electric Forest on the last day, but I am not in the Forest because I have everything they have out here. Inside they are just showing some videos for some reason, and I know this because I have their video stream right in front of me.

I am at home. I smoke a little pot and then my Dad comes over so I smoke a little more with him. Then my Mom comes in and starts putting us all to work. We have a conversation and I am told to clean the gutters and take this doll and set it outside somewhere. I walk out the front door with this covered doll, and it's blanket falls from it's shoulders, revealing two small, naked boobs. I wonder if they know this is a sex doll. I set her in the front yard where the cypress tree used to be and let her chill. I walk over to the magnolia tree and gander at the gutters over my Mom's bedroom. This is weird, I swear I just did the gutters. Well that was at Jon's house, so I guess that doesn't count. I thought about the shop vac, the spatula, and what I wanted to use for this job. The only vacuum I have is that small blue car vacuum. I would have to empty that thing every ten seconds. I walk back over to the sex doll and pick it up. I walk through the gate and into the back yard. I think about what I want to do to it and set it on the table.
I am distracted by two wonderful dogs who come to greet me! I pet the both of them, and squat down. Sidney is on my left, and Spencer is on my right with their bodies facing away from me at 45 degree angles to my meridian. I am petting the tops of their heads and they sniff me and lick me all over my face. I close my eyes and smile, still petting them, and I pay attention to the patterns they follow. Spencer's licks are spaced evenly and utilize the same surface area of his tounge each time. His tounge is soft, warm, wet, and gentle. Sidney's tounge is warm, wet, and lightly sandpaper-esque. His licks are more aggressive and randomized, using a slightly faster timing and a different amount of surface area each time. His fir coat is thick and heathly; it envelopes my hand. Spencer walks to the back door and Sidney sits on the dirt next to our patio and in front of the back porch. I give the dog a huge bear hug and place my head to his left. 'He shouldn't be here, why is he here,' I think to myself. I feel his ribcage and body structure. This is really him! Everything about him is right. I sit back and look at him, thinking about how these are somehow the same molecules that are in a box on my desk (right now they're in their best pattern). I pet him and sit with him.
