Earlier this week I had a disturbing dream, although I don't remember too much of it; here are the highlights.

I was driving and anxious to get to my destination, perhaps home, or perhaps just to get out of the weather. Others also seemed anxious and were driving fast. Winds were picking up and beginning to push the car a bit. Debris was being carried in the wind and visibility was diminishing. All I could see was a couple cars ahead and the lane over, and the debris blowing around. Very strong increasingly violent winds. Cars were getting pushed around, some began to tumble. I could feel my anxiety building, I just wanted to get out of there. I drove around cars as they tumbled in front of me, and I could see injured people. I was thinking this was so unlike me to not stop and help, but I drove around the injured or even dead people and overturned cars, in a hurry to get out.

This did not seem like a tornado to me. There wasn't rain with the wind, so I'm not sure if it was a hurricane. I don't recall thinking it was either a tornado or hurricane in the dream. Just some very unusual occurrence.

The time is early evening, still light out; skies are a bit grey, temperature is mild. I was in town at the end of a visit, and decided to drive around a bit and explore. I turned into the parking lot of a building that looked like one a friend had showed me a photo of. There was a very large swimming pool to the right of the lot, but it was completely drained, no water. To the left was a condo or apartment building. No cars were in the lot. Restaurants were on the 1st floor of the back of the building but were closed. The condos or apartments were above the restaurants and I had a sense they were occupied as I saw billowing curtains and a light or two. The building was about 4-6 stories high.

The building overlooked a river, and I was surprised to see how turbulent and extremely fast moving the water was, with the water near the very top of the bank and about to overflow. I thought I better head back before the roads became flooded. As I exited the parking lot, I could see the water was now overflowing and onto the roads. I thought I could still get out, but I'd have to be quick. The building was at the corner of two streets in this downtown area, and there was a traffic light at the intersection. I looked up at the street signs to see where I was, and it was the corner of Devon and Main.

When I woke up I googled 'Devon and Main'. Devon is a street in Chicago; I'm familiar with Chicago and this didn't seem to be there. The town in my dream was much smaller, less commercial activity, more sedate. 'Devon and Main' also yielded Devon's main river... Tamar in southwest England. In my dream it felt more like the US than England as the driver's seat was on the left side of the car.

1st dream. I was at an outside fair/market. There was thick green grass under my feet. I was wearing shoes. I was learning to make wood furniture. I decided I liked to carve wood instead. I left that booth and saw a friend who recently passed away. His name is Ben. He was carrying a round piece of mirrored  glass. I said hello. He turned to me and smiled.
2nd dream.  Packing food for travel or preparing food for livestock? I was on a farm. Bright sunshine. Animals around. Horses, goats and dogs of all shapes and sizes. I was taking care of dogs. When the owners came to pick them up, they didn't want to go. They wanted to stay with me.
