I had this dream early this morning (8/7/2010). I don't remember all of it, but the following parts were clear. Nuclear war was imminent, but no bombs had gone off yet.
In the first part of the dream I was in an office building and the people in charge were going floor by floor and making everyone go down to the basement. They even forced open the door to a bathroom where a young man had locked himself in to make him come along. He was wearing camouflage, but I don't think he was in the military - it was more of a fashion statement.
The scene changed and I was outside on the street. I wasn't in a large city with tall buildings, more like the suburbs. Most of the people had already left. Full trash cans lined the street and there were piles of things that people had abandoned as they left. Five abandoned children, none of them more than five years old, argued in shrill voices as they scavenged through a trashcan. A dead dog lay nearby, probably a black lab, but it was starting to bloat and decompose so it was hard to tell.
I was still with the young man from the office building and we drove to a shelter that had been set up in a building that had a large open room about the size of a high school gym. I don't know how much protection it would give since it didn't seem to be underground, but at least there weren't any windows. The people running the shelter were all wearing orange tshirts. They were very busy, but seemed to be well organized and not at all frantic. Therewere people of all ages collecting at the shelter. There was a row of beds set up in a large alcove off the main room. We were going to have to sleep in shifts because there weren't enough beds for everyone.

I was walking through space and standing on a scaled down Earth. I was observing from afar a conflict between two alien races peak. One of them threatend to destroy the Earth with a black hole. I did not see the races, all I know is that humans were not involved and that one race cared for the Earth and the other didn't. A black hole probability field then appeared over most of Australia leaving only the Eastern most tips of Sydney visible. I watched in awe as this dark void of nothingness hovered over the entire continent. I was without color or form, it wasn't. I stood without emotion watching the probability field hover over the Earth. Then I got scared and distracted and tried to get away from it, I stumbled and kicked it on accident. The black hole quickly fell to the Earth and time stopped. The leaders of the two quarraling alien races stopped and stared at me and the blue planet on which I stood. They didn't "say" anything to me, but I suddenly understood that what I had done was not reversable. I touched the probability field. The inevitable events to follow could not be undone or stopped. We all watched in horror as time started up again. Somehow the black hole caused a skip in time. We watched events take place and like the delay on live radio, the same sequence took place again a few seconds later. As the black hole hit the Earth, it went right through. Within moments most of Australia was gone. In its place was a perfect crater, like a chunck had been surgically removed and all that remained was a gaping wound, a hole in the middle of the Pacific ocean. Immediately all the water began to pour into the open hole and the continents began to convulse in pain. As they moved waves formed. Waves big enough to devour entire continents. All of Europe was taken in one swoop. Two thirds of Africa, Canada, the U.S. and most of Souht America gone. I saw a few remote towns high in the Himalayas and Andes and Rockies spared. The entire planet was dead in less than three minutes.
I was then swept up and taken away. I was taken to a crowded, musky room filled with old men dressed in suits. I sat in an oversized chair. My feet could not touch the floor and the arms of the chair were taller than my head. The men glared and scrutinized me as they walked by, each in turn giving me the evil eye. My husband is there (it's rare that he shows up in a dream) he tells me that I have to face the consequences of what I've done (destroying the Earth). He helps me off the chair and we follow another man who walks up to a door next to a bookcase. He opens it the wrong way and reveals a paved passage way that is dimly lit. There is a usually a large room on the other side of that door (I don't know how I know this), so this must be a ripple in space or dimensions.
I walk down the corridor my husband follows. We come to a chamber where there are trinkets scattered about. He picks up a strange looking deck of cards and I knock over an intricate goblet of water. He tells me that I have to complete the rutual to save the people and possibly myself. I've been damned. He's upset because I screwed up the ritual by spilling the water. Something calls me over to the next room. There is a man sitting crosslegged on an elevated stone table it looks like a shrine. He is naked aside from a cloth covering his private parts. His head is not human it's a dog or wolf very Egyptian looking. My husband hands him the cards and he starts to shuffle. The dog man starts talking about fate, and eternity and God and my place in the world. Holds out two cards and asks me to choose. I hesitated and asked him who he was...he told me that I already knew the answer to that question...he was the devil (not Satan, I've met him, this was one of his many higher ups). He told me that if i chose correctly I could save myself and the planet. My husband gets very exited and encourages me hurry up. I realize that we are playing a game of chance. But the devil never plays chance because he always knows the outcome. It's rigged. I told him no. My husband got upset. The dog-faced devil becomes insistant that it is the only way, that I have to choose. He assures me that it is pure chance and that if I want to save the Earth I don't have a choice. I must choose. After thinking for a long while I realized I was making a deal with the devil. They were tricking me into it. So I put the deck of cards down and walked away. I told them "I always have a choice" as I left. Everything fell apart.

This was the second I remember from last night's mix of dreams.
I was in a southwestern desert area much like New Mexico or South West Texas. I was in a house with people I didn't know. They all seemed to know each other and had all kinds of business to attend to. It was a casual scene with people coming and going. The people were like bikers or just working class type people in jeans and t-shirts.
I found myself stealing cigarettes from a pack that was left on the table when suddenly there was a large commotion outside. I do not remember any shooting although in a flash I was being helped into one of several SUV's along with a few other people, mostly women. The SUV crew was all paramilitary types in semi-BDU type gear. No helmets, just cammo pants and black or grey t-shirts and they were hyped up about the "raid" they just pulled off. I could see all the "bikers" were dead and the crewwas braggingabout using their pistols to do thejob.The driver pulled out his 1911 and was gesturing with it and said "You've got to use this, did you alluse your pistols!?!"
We drove away.

This came in a mix of dreams last night. I only remembered two of the scenes, this was one.
I was with my teenaged son and we were in a high penthouse suite at night overlooking a large city. The lights stretched out for miles and the big windows made our perspective appear at times to be floating above it all. A presence was in the room with us and we were having a conversation with it. It was a dark form that seemed to be a person and an ancientspirit. We didn't look at it but rather the amazing view. In all it was a pleasant exchange with no bad feelings. The being was explaining the history of the city or area.
The city was in a large valley that used to be mostly farms and there was water features running through it. I looked down at what appeared to be a cranberry pond at harvest time. The being explained that people were here for centuries and this had built up over time, but in the past it was a lush fertile area.
My son and I suddenly were directed to leave, or decided to leave. We went to the corner of the penthouse and into a large closet that was very different in construction. The inside of the room was styled much like my old farm house- plaster and lathe walls with white painted very basic styledwood trim. The door shut and the room began to fall as if the tower was falling apart. I don't remember anything beyond the falling sensation and the feelingthat soon we'd be hitting the ground.

This is my girlfriend's dream:
Last night I had a dream that Hunter and I were sitting on our bed in our bedroom and suddenly we could see some type of object. It's very hard to explain what it was but I will best I can. It was slightly orb looking floating/hovering around our room with wing-type contraptions that were helping it "fly". I was very astonished and wandering how we could see it because it looked so unreal and out of this world. This is all I can remember.

I am writing this dream on behalf of my son. He saw bad creatures from the devil, like minotaurs and dragons invading his room and the car and drilling holes in the wall and taking bits out.They put something like an explosive in the wall then put the wall back together.
Then they started laughing and hissing.
The dragons were saying "This is world war three, the end of humankind!" Somebody was watching, terrified, something came up behind him and attacked him.
My son saw two armies like in the "Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", about to collide. There were people riding "good" dragons and there were evil dragons who were pretending to be people. the evil dragons were like the monsters on Terminator. The evil dragons were leaders of countries. Barack Obama and his wife were dragons but his wife was worse. Also, the Queen of England was a dragon and she was the Queen of the Dragons, too.

We were presented with old manuals aged yellowed and brown
The manual was Practical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering
It was at least 2 inchs thick
The eight of us broke into two groups
It was not a classroom environment
We were in a large structure, our location was meant to simulate the outdoors
A thin corridor separated the two groups
After an intense all morning session the group was scheduled to complete a project
However instead of working on our respective projects we opted for some fun and hijinks
We converged in the middle of the corridor
A member of the opposite group struck several musical notes
I provided the percussions, we made music
Enjoying our escape from responsibility we mustered through some physical activities
Prior to returning to our respective projects our competition was renewed
Hijinks ensued, The ancients belieived that to dream of urinating was a release of creativity
Well one person took the high ground and began urinating on my team
Not to be outdone we blocked their exit and returned the favor
The Project
We found ourselves outside surrounded for our protection by a high chain linked fence
There was a vehicle that was not in running condition
The parts needed to repair the vehicle were present but not quite machined to specifications
After some tooling and the parts meshing as intended it became apparent that this was a drive shaft
After installing the drive shaft we realized that this was a means of escape
Not from our confinement behind the high chain linked fence but what was beyond it
Total Darkness
My compatriots were all excited as was I to the prospects of escaping
I was feeling a little playful and as I started the engine I decided to make my compatriots think I was leaving
without them
I meant only to take the vehicle out for a quick spin, I would return for them so we could all escape together
Crashing the vehicle through the gate I heard the shouts of "What are you doing?"
The Darkness outside was palpable
There were only several lit areas that I observed looking down corridors that were perpendicular to my view
Each weresilhouetted scenes of ghastly acts perpetrated on one human being to another
It was as if these acts were intentionally perpetrated only in the light
I hurriedly returned to the safety of the compound informing my compatriots of the horrors that waited outside the safety of the gates 12:54 am 8/3/2010

I have remebered this dream for 30 years.

I'm 6 years oldat the time of dreaming.
My mothers family is gathered at a small school gymnasium. We are all there and wearing church clothes waiting for my grandfather to arrive. In life my grandfather was a pentecostal minster, and a fiery Ukranian son of a farmer.

The family waited together, some of us were sobbing, others looked shocked or uncertain. A procession entered. There was a priest, an executioner and a large Gorilla/Sasquatch? escourting my grandfather into the gymnasium. I remeber seeing thathe had on very simple linen clothes and knitted woolen socks. He was going to a guillotine to have his head off. The dream cut off and was followed by another dream that showed only people frontasl lobes being surgically implanted with credit cards. It was very odd, I remeber not being afraid when I woke up. I'm certain this dream was the product of brainwashing.

I'm laying on my back breathing deeply with my preganant wife next to me. I was tired so I didn't bother to roll over like I usually do.
I sense a presence in the room with us which is slightly darker now. I can't move or speak, only murmur. I hear steps and an odd hissing/breathing sound. I long and sinuous form tackles me on to the floor from my bed, it feels fully lucid at thi spoint and I am completly awake. I fight viscously with the being for what seems like 20 or 30 seconds. The harder I fight the more confident I feel that I'm defending our lives.

I'm laying on my back in my bed, breathing heavily, with my preganant sleeping wife next to me. I roll over.

I found myself on a grassy hill,mid afternoon maybe, mild wind. There was a single tree rustling at my back and I could feel slightly warm from the sun. I felt a presence from above the tree lower down to me and rest two hands on my shoulders. I felt very peaceful as though these were compassionate beings behind me, I don't recall if there were one or more to be clear. I heard a voice softly say " You have to see this" I rose up into a low cloud a suddenly shot very quickly through the clouds which resembled a tunnel coming so quickly. I slowed over a coastal/lake city that was partially destroyed with a definate line through the centre of it mass that appeared to be lava. The half that had been destroyed was closest to the coast. The other half of the city was under construction or completely new, like nothing I can recall seeing. The buildings were cylindrical and opaque in appearance with a dull green tone mostly. It was very beautiful to look at from the sky I remember which made me feel strangley at ease with the sheer scope of the destruction I was seeing. We returned to the hill and set down very gently.
