In this announcement, we’ll talk about a new menu item, new and important DreamScapes, problems and workarounds with the DreamBase, and some other grab-bag items.
DreamBase Problem and Workaround
Have you had issues trying to input a dream into the DreamBase? Specifically, have you submitted what you thought was a thorough dream only to find it completely empty? Well, we might have finally found one of the mysterious issues and a possible workaround.
First, though, please know that the NDC management is in the process of designing a new database to warehouse all our dreams. Thank you for your patience throughout this lengthy process.
The problem and solution we’ll discuss today was brought to us by Wendy…a very awesome dreamer and person, by the way.
She writes the following including screenshots to illustrate her workaround (and thus, a huge, heartfelt ‘thank you’ to Wendy):
Now when you click on the “Paste from word”, or “paste from text”, or “paste”, it opens another screen, you can then use “control V” and it will paste the words, but when you click the “Insert” button at the bottom, it goes back to the main screen (In internet Explorer) but all the words are missing.
The only way to get the words in there is either:
1. To hand type it all over again (Which stopped working on me, I even cleared my browser history and rebooted my PC) or
2. I found you can copy the text in word, hold the mouse on the highlighted text and move the mouse (while the text is still selected) over to the data base screen, so it is more of a “Click, Drag, & Drop” that works.
I added some print screens for you.
Not to beat a dead horse here, but we haven’t heard any issues from those using Firefox or Chrome, so either consider using those two (they are both free), or please inform us if you’re having problems with them.
New DreamScapes you don’t want to miss
Have you heard of anyone talking about their predictive dream about 9/11? Well, get a hold of them and tell them to come here right away! Dee has electrified the DreamScape scene, and we’re going to help her compile a bunch of material for her research on 9/11 dreams.
You need not have had a 9/11 dream to participate…you can simply show up and make a few courteous remarks about other peoples’ dreams or ask questions. You can find the link here.
Also, please look through the other DreamScapes carefully and provide your inputs to as many as possible. If you didn’t know, the DreamScape topics are found in the dropdown menu above. Simply hover your cursor over the word ‘DreamScape’ in the main menu.
In the “Timing” DreamScape, we’re looking for information about the average time it takes for your precognitive dreams to come true. We also want to know about any substances that enhance or hurt your dream life. There are also several DreamScape mysteries that we want to “solve” through our dreams, so begin making your intention on those and provide us some dreams!
Finally, there’s an ‘Open Mic’ DreamScape and this is literally for any dream-related question or comment you might have that doesn’t really have a place anywhere else. Please present your comment/question in a way that will inspire a conversation of some sort. The DreamScapes are more community discussions than anything else, so please jump in there and give your 2 cents!
Two types of searches at the National Dream Center
Keep in mind that there are two distinct portions of the National Dream Center. There’s the main website that obviously runs on WordPress, but then we have the database (the DreamBase) which is a separate database. Therefore, if you are searching for something on the blog, then you would search in the field to the upper right of this page.
However, if you want to search for words in our dreams database, you would have to hop over to the DreamBase. The exact link is here.
New Section: How To…
In the top menu above, you should find a menu item called “How To.” This is a new section of the site tailored to learning small tidbits about various types of dream-related information. It will house beginner level info and advanced dreaming techniques. If you have material to add or suggest, please contact us.
