We break our usually-scheduled post to bring you some very pressing information this morning. The DreamForecast today will be coming straight from raw, unadulterated manifest dream content never before seen at the National Dream Center. In addition, we’ll discuss more relevant DreamOsophy, where the lines between predicting and creating merge and intermingle.
What’s so pressing?
The first big difference you’ll notice is that the DreamForecast is normally positioned last in any daily posting, but this time, it’s moved up to the top (or rather the middle). Why the urgency?
The answer is simple….90% or so of recent dreams are eerily similar. Now, of course, we have a mix of Project August dreams and regular, unintended dreams, which makes this situation even more interesting. So, let’s back up quickly to cover some important supporting material and theory.
What happens exactly when you intend to dream about the future? Do you automatically get exactly what you asked for? Let’s all shake our heads sideways…..no. Well, actually CAN you receive what you asked for? As far as we can tell so far, yes, this CAN be done, but there are some complications.
As you might have already imagined, Project August participants are not the first people to intend to receive future details from their dreams. Past dreamers like JW Dunne noted that the vast majority of precognition happens within a week from when the dream took place. This does match my personal experience and in discussing this issue with other precognitive dreamers. However, it certainly doesn’t cover everyone. For example, Ian Wilson claims that his sweet spot is between 3 weeks and 3 months.
There are several points here that need to be made. First, there is very little data out there on whether we can intend to dream the future for a specific timeframe. This is largely why Project August exists right now, and the results do look fairly promising because several dreams have already accurately predicted current headlines of things that are expected in or near August 2014. But did the dreams predict the actual August event, or did it simply predict the current headline (or both)? That remains to be seen.
What is interesting is that of those PA dreams that accurately predicted current headlines, they all seemed to be right at about 7 days from the dream. In other words, the headline about the expected August event came out about 7 days from when the dream was dreamt. This is fascinating and somewhat confirms what JW Dunne talked about earlier.
So, the big question is: when we intend to dream about August, are we getting actual August material, or are we getting info for the next week? Unfortunately, we don’t know (yet). Some researchers, like JM Debord, have commented that when you make that intention to dream the future, you only open yourself up to the future in general. According to his thought, one cannot dream about a specific future date….they can only dream about the future, and then whatever comes…comes.
So again, what’s so pressing today?
Potential Imminent Headline: “Airliner crashes at Nashville International Airport”
We had several dreams that overlapped yesterday. They were too close in content to be ignored, and the theme was airplanes. If this crossing of dream content is precognitive, then I would expect a major airplane crash within a week’s time.
All of these dreams, save one, was dreamt yesterday. The one exception was dreamed about 1 to 2 years ago, but the dreamer just happened to type it into the database yesterday, the same day that several other airplane dreams were typed in. However, the older dream was not a dream about airplane crashes, but rather a Russian jet strafing the heck out of American citizens.
We now have 5 PA dreams with airplane crashes and a couple of non-PA dreams to support it. Location is a big question mark here; however, one of the dreams specifically mentions a plane headed to Nashville. None of the other dreams have specific locations, but rather some terrain features. One of those dreams talks about a wooded hillside, and the other talks about the plane being in the pattern (which supports the location being at least near or over an airport of some kind).
Has the dream already happened? There’s always the possibility that the dream material here is from the past (a sort of collective-level “day residue”). However, the evidence doesn’t look too convincing for me. Here are some examples…
Maybe the dreams are helping us locate the Malaysian Flight 370: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/28/world/asia/malaysia-airlines-flight-370.html
This one doesn’t feel applicable because all the dreams talk about bigger aircraft types, not small Cessna’s: http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/dead-small-plane-crash-panhandle-23863665
This one doesn’t have dates of the actual crash, so that would be anyone’s guess…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UidI6myQQGE
Shortly, I’ll approve some of our recent dreams, so you can assess for yourself. Keep in mind that we’ll still keep the PA dreams hidden, so you’ll not be able to view those. But watch out for this headline. If Dunne was right and these dreams are precognitive, you’ll see it within about 7 days.
And now some DreamOsophy
This whole discussion here will involve an excellent email I received from one of our very loyal dreamers just yesterday. I’m going to break it up and talk about each of the sections separately, since there’s lots of different ideas interspersed throughout. I purposefully leave out some of the information that may be identifying to this dreamer, but here’s where we begin:
I would say on either Friday or Saturday 5/16-17 this event took place. I am very clairaudiant. It is strongest right before I fall asleep when my brain is in Theta (I believe it is) stage. It could just be strong Alpha, but I am completely conscious with my eyes closed. I can move and shift my body on purpose or even get up and lay back down and still “hear” very easily. Well I have come to terms with the clairaudiance and no longer think there is something wrong with me, or that I am crazy.
When people claim to see or hear things that others cannot, mainstream psychology will simply dismiss them as lunatics, without recourse. In the transpersonal psychology world, we recognize such phenomenon as not necessarily crazy. This is especially important when determining whether the person is psychotic or experiencing a spiritual emergency. The two look extraordinarily similar, but they are very different.
Someone going through a spiritual emergency is not a threat to anyone, including themselves. They can also assess their own inner states and be able to at least question the things they are experiencing. Psychotics on the other hand pose a threat to others and/or self. They have little context about the nature of reality, especially with what is happening on the inside.
It started off innocent enough, I was talking with some family members (im pretty sure its their subconcious selves im talking with) and then a dark entity came in. The voice was [name removed] and he freaked me out. His voice and sentience reminded me of Krang the villain from the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
He asked me what I knew about the end of all things. I had no idea what he was talking about so I played dumb, but I wasn’t playing.
Another one came in after just to tell me that he knew about my magic.I know that sounds far out, and would be easy to chalk up to paranoid delusions but I feel it was more then that, Not to mention my dream.
This statement right here is a good indicator that the person is not psychotic. They can acknowledge that the phenomenon looks and feels weird or certainly is not the norm. Also, it need not be an either/or proposition here (either spiritual emergency or psychosis). If the person frequently and safely enters this clairvoyant space, a better term might simply be….mystic.
The part about the dark intruder is what we are exploring in one of our DreamScapes. Please go there (called “Nefarious Attacks in the Night”) and throw in your two cents. Are we talking about demons here? Carl Jung’s concept of the “shadow self?” Is it just an imaginary dream image, or have we programmed our minds with horror? What exactly is happening here? If you have an answer, please go to this link and leave a comment. Our dreamer continues…
I can start with what I know in my own life. I believe that we all have the ability to consciously create our reality. If we do not conciously create, then we subconciously create. Fear is a strong emotion, and you can create a fear based situation easier then you can imagine. On a large level if many many people were subconciously scared about the future, they might have the ability to create a large fearscape that could effect many. All of the controlled group, plus possibly those around them who are not consciously choosing around them.
Is this dreamer all over the power of creating or what? I applaud these views, because we DO co-create our future constantly, day in and day out. But before I respond here, let’s finish the last paragraph…
IF we are able to choose our futures, influence it with such a large group, with a little direction do you think we could make amazingly wonderful things happen in PA?
Have you considered setting your intention to receive VERY POSITIVE headlines dreams in your study? Would that change the wording you use in your blog posts that would bring more positive dreams? These are just some things I’ve been wondering about. You have the ability to reach so many people with this project. If you could almost singlehandedly even possibly bring a better August to the world could you and would you?
I very much appreciate and respect your work, I just wanted to share my opinions with you.
Well, anonymous dreamer, I am absolutely impressed with your knowledge and suggestions, and I so appreciate this email! My answer is YES, I have thought about all of this, and what you are describing is our long-term plan. I know that we may not have a lot of time to do all the things I want, but I feel it’s absolutely critical we go about this in a methodical fashion.
First, I MUST separate dream predictions from dream creating. Last month, I talked about the new paradigm and how I would call it “Creating/Predicting” because they are two sides of the same coin. However, creating is our long-term plan, and we’re going to get there by way of accurately predicting future events.
Here’s what I mean…before we can effectively create our future headlines, I need to first determine just how accurate our prediction process is on our dreams (without trying to control the future). We are not creating anything at this point. We are simply looking at the health of the collective unconscious to determine what the next headline will be.
Why are we doing this? To achieve credibility in both our collective ability to dream the future, but also in the process of extracting the headlines. This is absolutely critical for the final phase that I think we all want…to start CREATING the positive future. You see, if our dreams can show us high probabilities of future events, then people will start to heed our predictions. And when they heed our predictions, then we can collectively pick and choose which dreams we want to fulfill and which ones we want to stop from happening. The world would be our oyster because so many more people would believe in what the dreams are saying.
If we were to begin the CREATING process too early, we have a couple of problems holding us back. First, we gain little support from the outside world. Let’s face it, the more people we have, the less hard we have to work at our intentions. Second, we would have skipped all the valuable lessons from the first phase, which is what we’re doing now.
Right now is all about PREDICTING, and no creating (other than what we’re already doing on a subconscious level). This will help us learn and grow as collective dreamers and skilled dream interpreters. There is much to learn, so that is our #1 priority. How long with this last? Unfortunately, I cannot say with any certainty. A lot of this is determined by how well the future resembles our predictions.
So, I hope this helps us remain caged on the short and long-term goals. Short term is all about PREDICTING the future, so that later we can effectively CREATE the future with our dreams. Will the world give us enough time to do all this? Ha! Only time will tell…
