Headline #60: The Coup and the New Parliament

This headline came from Report #4, and it was a mix of a couple different dreams, but one those (from dreamer named “Deedeespirit”) knew she was in the Middle East somewhere:

i dreamt i saw a young fair skinned woman stationed at a base in the Middle East, i think it was viet nam or korea

The dream goes on to talk about the atrocities she had to go through and some violence. This was specifically overlapped into this coup meme, but more importantly, she hit BOTH of the coup locations in this post!

Before we begin, let’s be clear about what we were looking for in this headline. First off, we knew it was not inside the USA; we acknowledged that is was overseas. Second, the aforementioned dream indicated it would be either Middle East or Far East. The last part of the meme seemed to suggest a “newly formed nation.”

How about answer C, all of the above?

Note: If you’re new to the NDC, then welcome! This article explains how one of our 119 Project August headlines came true (or at least registered a decent hit on our DreamSeer scale.) We’re still in phase 1 of formulating predictions based on collective dreamwork, and thus some of the content seems dire and substantially negative.

Stay tuned, though, because the success we’re having here will carry us directly into the next phase, where we actually get to choose the outcome ahead of time…or at least that’s what one of our teams will be attempting to do. The next phase is called “Paradigm 3,” which will follow Proj Aug (TBD). We’ll have sign-ups in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned or sign up for free email alerts.

Coup Part 1: Iraq (wow!)

As if Iraq doesn’t have enough problems on it’s plate…they now have accusations of a coup based on constitutional proceedings (or rather the alleged lack of those proceedings)…

Maliki accuses Iraq president of ‘coup’

U.S. official tweets support for President Massoum

By Maggie Ybarra – The Washington Times – Sunday, August 10, 2014

Further destabilization rocked Iraq on Sunday as Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki accused President Fouad Massoum of engaging in a “coup” by failing to choose a new prime minister by an Sunday’s deadline.

Iraq Coup Chatter Spikes as Special Forces Loyal to PM Reportedly Deploy to Strategic Areas in Baghdad

Aug. 10, 2014 6:56pm Dave Urbanski

UPDATE 9:27 p.m.: WASHINGTON (TheBlaze/AP) — The United States said it “fully supports” Iraq’s new president, just hours after embattled Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki accused him of violating the constitution.

The U.S. rejects any effort to use coercion or manipulation in the process of choosing a new Iraqi leader, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said, adding that the U.S. supports “building a national consensus and governing in an inclusive manner.”

There was tons of headlines over this. More examples….

Coup Part 2: “Newly Formed Nation”

Bangkok’s Coup Regime Creates a Militarized Parliament

Monday, 11 August 2014, 1:44 pm

Coup leader Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha’s new hand-picked militarized parliament was inaugurated on Thursday (August 7), enabling the general to dominate future legislative, executive and judicial institutions.

Gen. Prayuth’s interim parliament will soon nominate an interim prime minister who is widely predicted to be Gen. Prayuth himself.

He will then install a cabinet which is expected to include the general’s closest military colleagues. [yep, sure sounds like a coup to me!]

Gen. Prayuth appears to be trying to create an image of acceptable legitimacy to his overwhelming personal power, while extending his reach across this modern, capitalist, major non-NATO U.S. treaty ally.

DreamSeer Score

With the articles above, Headline #60 gets a high but not perfect score: 4.5

The main reason for the decrement is because the Iraq president is only accused of a coup…it hasn’t actually been proven yet. Therefore, if we have to rely on Thailand for the coup, then that would be devistating for our score since their actual coup took place earlier this year. The reason we included Thailand was because it definitely fulfilled the “newly formed nation” aspect to the coup meme.

If we combine the two together, we get a very decent aggregate based on this news, and the biggest highlight was the spot on location marker by our aforementioned dreamer.
