Congrats to Sherriann, who receives her first validated dream and NativeAmericanDreamWeaver for yet another great hit.

Doing some validations this morning got me to thinking about how we haven’t defined which direction to score (news TO the dream or the dream TO the news). For USEFULNESS of precognition, we can’t take a dream and try to inject it into the headlines.

We actually need to look at the main parts of the headline first to see if the dream really predicted the key components of the real-world news. If we’re predicting the 3rd-most important concept from a news article…well that isn’t particularly useful to our operation. In other words, when we “see” the future, we want to ensure we’re getting the very most important things from the future news.

Therefore, I added Change 3 in the DreamSeer scoring. From now on, when scoring the WHAT component, we will start from the real-world news article and determine the most important subject and verb in the news. If the Bears win the Super Bowl but we dreamed that a wide receiver caught a pass…well that is precognitive, but it isn’t the most important aspect to the event.

So, when starting your score, look first at the news article and ask yourself what the most important subject, verb, and descriptors are. Then look back at your dream and ask, did I dream of these things. If not, it doesn’t mean the dream wasn’t precog, but it means your score will be lower in accordance with the criteria.

Unless otherwise specified, you may claim your personal location at the time of the dream as the location of the prediction. Caveat: You may not do this if you have some land marker or anything that suggests you are somewhere different.

One more thing

You may submit a subsequent news article for a preciously validated dream, but only the highest scoring event will be displayed. I may decide to include the subsequent submissions into the same response, so for example, Validated Dream #3 post might have 3 or 4 validations in the same big window. Haven’t decided how I’m going to display that just yet.
